THANK YOU N.IRELAND BREEDERS
A big thank you to you all in Northern Ireland for your wonderful hospitality when we judged the Herd Competition. Although it was a challenging experience travelling 650 miles to 18 farms we thoroughly enjoyed it. Congratulations to all the winners especially the Macmordie family for winning the overall competition.
INTERBREED SUCCESS AT PEMBROKESHIRE COUNTY SHOW
After winning Reserve Male and Reserve Female at the County Show we were delighted to go on and win Best Pair and Group of Three on Tuesday. Wednesday was Interbreed Day and more success for the Herefords. Winning the best Native Breed Pair was fantastic but the highlight was winning the group of three out of nine breeds with the judge Mr William Bedell being a Limousin breeder. Gordon and Myfanwy Bowen also won Reserve Interbreed with a first calver heifer. The judges’ comments were that the Hereford Breed is the most improved breed during the last few years emphasizing that there is less wastage within the breed.
2010 WALES HERD OF THE YEAR
At the Royal Welsh Show we were delighted to hear that we were winners of the Welsh region on the merits of the cow herd, replacements and choice of sires.
