NATIONAL HERD RUNNERS UP 2010

We were delighted when Mr David Carroll anounced that we were the runners up in the UK Hereford Herd of the year 2010 at the Annual Dinner last Friday evening. The judged remarked that we were given the award on the merits of “a magnificent cow herd and outstanding replacement heifers.” After winning the top place in 2008 to be in the running once again is really fantastic!!

AN ENJOYABLE POLL SHOW!!!! 2010

With terrific entries at the Poll Show we were pleased when Glenvale 1 Molly 326 was placed 3rd in the April 2009- August 2009 class of 20 heifers. The highlight of the day for Non was winning the Overall Young Handlers Competition and made the four and a half hour trip to Moreton worthwhile!!!

INTERBREED SUCCESS AT PEMBROKESHIRE COUNTY SHOW 2010

After winning Reserve Male and Reserve Female at the County Show we were delighted to go on and win Best Pair and Group of Three on Tuesday. Wednesday was Interbreed Day and more success for the Herefords. Winning the best Native Breed Pair was fantastic but the highlight was winning the group of three out of nine breeds with the judge Mr William Bedell being a Limousin breeder. Gordon and Myfanwy Bowen also won Reserve Interbreed with a first calver heifer. The judges’ comments were that the Hereford Breed is the most improved breed during the last few years emphasizing that there is less wastage within the breed.

Success at Royal Welsh and Cardigan Show 2010

Glenvale 1 Acorn 321 won her class in the Royal Welsh Show and Non’s Studdolph 1 Dior was 2nd in her class with Dior also awarded Reserve Champion at Cardigan Show. Weybrook 1 Duke had a first prize at the Royal Welsh . At Cardigan Show Glenvale 1 Sara 218 won the cow class and Reserve Female
