Having been delighted to be awarded the title of Welsh Hereford herd of the year earlier in the year, we were over the moon and completely surprised to be crowned National Herd of the Year at the recent annual dinner on the eve of the autumn show and sale.
We welcomed noted Longhorn breeders Pat and John Stanley of the Blackbrook herd to Studdolph who Kindly judged the overall competition. With some phenomenal Hereford breeders shining through from the various regions, the overall award came as a complete shock to us.
As every cattle breeder knows, you spend a lifetime perfecting your herd through various breeding decisions and we’re completely indebted to the Society for presenting us with this fantastic accolade.
